Randy Schekman’s research has made a major contribution to our understanding of how proteins are sorted and secreted from cells. These are essential biological processes defects in which are associated with several major diseases.
 
The Lecture will be preceded by a brief ceremony at which Prof Schekman will be awarded an Honorary DSc by the University of Edinburgh.

There will be a reception in the Swann Foyer following the lecture.
