This one-day symposium, part of our Dolly@20 celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the birth of Dolly the Sheep, will reflect both on the research that led to the generation of Dolly and the great impact that her birth has had on scientific research to this day.

The symposium is jointly organised by The Roslin Institute and the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine and includes speakers from the fields of mammalian cloning, genetic engineering, nuclear reprogramming and regenerative medicine.

Our excellent line-up of highly esteemed international speakers includes:

  • Nobel Prize Laureate for Physiology or Medicine 2012 Professor Shinya Yamanaka (Kyoto University)
  • Professor Marius Wernig (Stanford University)
  • Professor Hans Clevers (Hubrecht Institute)
  • Professor Paul Tesar (Case Western Reserve University)
  • Professor Angelika Schnieke (Technical University Munich)
  • Professor Goetz Laible (AgResearch New Zealand)

There will also be a keynote lecture on the generation of Dolly and her enduring impact on both science and society by Professor Sir Ian Wilmut.

Registration fees are £50 for academics/staff and £25 for postgraduate students. This includes lunch, coffee and tea, and a wine/canapé reception. We are pleased to be able to offer 40 free places to undergraduate students, generously supported by the Genetics Society.

We invite delegates to submit abstracts for poster presentation at the symposium. 40 posters will be presented at the symposium lunch session, so please ensure that you submit your abstract early to have the opportunity to showcase and share your research with early career investigators and established experts in the field.
