School of Biological Sciences and Roslin Institute workshop: Making an Impact on Policy

We are delighted to announce the “Making an Impact on Policy" workshop being organised by the Excellence with Impact committee at the University of Edinburgh Business School on Tuesday 10 November 2015.

Making an Impact on Policy workshop

The “Making an Impact on Policy" workshop draws together policymakers from organisations such as the Wellcome Trust, the Society of Biology and the UN Environment Programme, alongside researchers from the School of Biological Sciences and the Roslin Institute who are currently engaging with policy issues in different spheres.

The event will also be an opportunity for all attendees to discuss how researchers from across the University of Edinburgh can better coordinate interactions with policy stakeholders to maximise impact in the future.

The workshop will be held in the University of Edinburgh Business School, 29 Buccleuch Place, EH8 9JS from 11 - 5 pm, and will be followed by a wine reception.

Provisional programme

Excellence with Impact

The workshop is one of a number of events that have been initiated by the School of Biological Sciences and the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh, working together on the “Excellence with Impact” competition currently being run by the BBSRC

This competition has been a two year activity aimed at bringing about culture change that will increase the impact of Edinburgh's world-leading research - through increased knowledge exchange with industrial collaborators, raising our profile through engagement with the public, and promoting dialogue with governmental, public and charitable bodies to influence policy development.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us on 10 November for what should be a most productive and stimulating day.
