Engage | Invest | Exploit 2013 - Business Development Showcase - 9 May 2013

Engage | Invest | Exploit 2013

SAVE THE DATE! - Thursday 9th May 2013

Informatics Ventures Engage | Invest | Exploit is the leading annual showcase of high-quality companies spinning out of Scotland’s world leading Informatics and Computer Science departments and startup companies.  Since 2008 EIE has introduced more than 150 start-ups to investors helping them raise more than £12 million in funding.

For EIE '13 three EIE has joined forces with the Edinburgh BioQuarter and the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) to create what they claim will be the biggest investor showcase in Scotland.

Gordon Stuart, of Informatics Ventures, said:

We welcome the BioQuarter and the ECCI as our partners. It is great to have them on board and they will play a huge part in the future success and growth of EIE.

Due to the overwhelming demand from companies and investors to be involved in EIE13, we will be moving to a new, larger venue.”

The event, on 9 May next year, will be attended by more than 100 investors from the UK, Europe and the United States and, for the first time, there will be more than 60 technology companies from across Scotland exhibiting across the energy, informatics, and life science sectors.

Sir Tom Hunter will deliver the keynote address at EIE '13.  Sir Tom is one of Scotland's most active and committed philanthropists. Having made his fortune after the sale of his business, Sports Division, Sir Tom started the Hunter Foundation. Along side its other works, the Foundation invests in educational initiatives, supporting and enabling the next generation of entrepreneurial talent to come forward.
