The University of Edinburgh’s female scientists started their campaign for equality with street riots in the 1870s. Today, an Edinburgh professor is the first female president of the Royal Society of Chemistry. This short documentary film, "A Chemical Imbalance", celebrates how much has been achieved, and explores factors that contribute to the continued under-representation of women in STEM subjects.

Short talks and a chaired discussion with panelists:

  • Dr. Karen Halliday, School of Biosciences
  • Prof. Cait MacPhee, School of Physics
  • Prof. Polly Arnold, School of Chemistry

A drinks reception afterwards in the foyer.
