Infectious Diseases Research Network meeting: Emerging horizons in TB research

  • When:  Friday 26 April 2013 - SAVE THE DATE!
  • Location:  Institute of Materials, Carlton House Terrace, central London

A one-day workshop, organised by the Infectious Disease Research Network and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

The symposium is intended to provide an update on current research in the area of tuberculosis (with a particular focus on TB in the UK), with the day including talks across the research spectrum, from pre-clinical subjects such as genomics and promotion factors, through current trials for TB vaccines and on to clinical bioaerosol research and the research activity of the London Find and Treat team. There will also be a presentation on a systematic analysis of infectious disease research investments awarded to UK institutions, with particular focus on the TB portfolio.

It will be a varied day and delegates are invited to stand up and be counted in the speed-pitch sessions! You have three minutes to promote your own research, shout out about what you're doing and invite colleagues to corner you during the lunchbreak and ask further questions. This type of session has been used at previous IDRN and LSHTM events with some success. So if you are looking for collaboration opportunities, do see the event webpage.

There will also be the opportunity to present posters on TB too. Any TB-related topic is fine, and if you get the chance to re-use a poster you presented once at a conference previously, that's fine too. Deadline for abstract submissions Tues 9 April.
