Beltane Annual Gathering 2013 - Edinburgh's Public Engagement Network

  • When:  Tuesday 11 June 2013
  • Time:  6.30 - 8 pm
  • Location:  Summerhall (the Former Royal (Dick) School of Veterninary Studies, EH9 1PL)

The Beltane team is delighted to announce that the Beltane Annual Gathering 2013 will take place on Tuesday 11th June at the fantastic Summerhall!

As with previous Gatherings, this one will be the biggest networking opportunity – or, shall we say, “Synergy” opportunity – of the Beltane Network’s calendar. We will celebrate the successes of our Network members, showcase best practice and will have a good think with you about what Beltane should be doing in the year to come. All of this will, of course, be done with wine and food to sustain us!

The first part of the main Gathering programme will be a Bazaar: lots of examples of public engagement best practice scattered around Summerhall’s Dissection Room for you to browse and be inspired by. We are looking for people to be part of the Bazaar – could you be one of them? You would have your own station where you can do whatever you wish (within reason!). As the venue for this year’s Gathering is a cultural venue that was once a vet school, we would particularly welcome interest from individuals working across disciplinary divides. However, any interesting or exciting public engagement projects are welcome.

In the rest of the programme, we will be exploring key topics, such as involving undergraduate students or using social media, through table discussions. Also, prior to the main event, we will be running a “hack” session where we would love some of you to come and help us generate new material for our website (you will be rewarded).

Booking to attend the hack session and main Gathering will open soon. Meanwhile, if you have something to showcase, do register for the Bazaar!

Oh, and Tweeters – the hashtag is #ebag13.
