Public Engagement and Outreach

One of the key roles of Edinburgh Infectious Diseases is to build awareness, both within and outwith the University of Edinburgh, of the world-class research carried out here.

Public Engagement

One way in which we are making ourselves more visible is by getting involved with public engagement activities.   Researchers from Edinburgh Infectious Diseases have taken part in outreach events at the Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Science Festival.  More details of our continuing work are available at the links below.

Public Winter Lecture

We also host an annual public Winter Lecture in the University of Edinburgh's impressive Playfair Library during November each year.

2015: We are pleased to announce that coming up in November 2015, Dr Ramanan Laxminarayan, Director of the Centre for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy, in Washington DC, will speak on The global rise of antibiotic resistance and how we can counter it.  More details will be available later in the year.
